The Packaging Program at Cal Poly is directed by Dr. Jay Singh, who is joined by Drs. Koushik Saha, Javier de la Fuente and Ajay Kathuria in providing curricular and research leadership. Housed comfortably within the Industrial Technology and Packaging department, the program has strong on-campus collaborative relationships with every college at Cal Poly. The Program currently offers a major (Industrial Technology & Packaging), a concentration (Consumer Packaging Solutions) and a Packaging Minor. It will be offering a MS Packaging Value Chain degree in Fall 2016.

The Cal Poly Packaging program is also at the cutting edge of research and technology development. It has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, and core competencies in distribution testing, package design, rapid prototyping, software applications, metals fabrication, RFID, materials and analytical testing and polymer processing. A growing number of California-based as well as national companies have availed themselves of the applied research capacities of the Program. While operating a successful Packaging Research Consortium for the past 7 years, the Program plans to launch a Center for Packaging Value Chain in 2016.
