Becoming part of IAPRI means joining a respected global network of universities, research institutes, companies, and organizations committed to advancing packaging research, testing, and education. Organizations that support or are closely connected to the packaging field may also be eligible for membership. With 74 member institutes and corporations across 29 countries, IAPRI provides an exceptional platform for international collaboration, professional visibility, and the exchange of knowledge that drives progress in packaging worldwide.
IAPRI membership offers far more than affiliation. It opens the door to meaningful connections with leading packaging professionals, access to a broad international community across many packaging disciplines, and opportunities to engage in conferences, share expertise, strengthen institutional visibility, and help shape the future of packaging science and education. Each year, IAPRI brings members together through a major event, alternating between the IAPRI Member Conference and the IAPRI World Conference on Packaging.

Full Member Types Affiliate Member Type
Institutional Membership in IAPRI is open to universities, research institutes, government lab, or organizations for whom packaging research, test method development, and/or higher education programs in packaging are core activities and who wish to actively exchange research results and methods with the IAPRI community .
Institutional Members support IAPRI’s knowledge sharing mission by exchanging research, data, and expertise through conferences, symposia, and working groups.

Institutional Members are uniquely entitled to:
- Voting rights in IAPRI governance, including elections and key decisions
- Eligibility to host IAPRI World and Member Conferences and other IAPRI events
- Opportunities to propose and co-lead industry driven projects, Communities of Practice topics, and technical working groups
- Eligibility to be represented on the IAPRI Board and to lead IAPRI initiatives and committees
Institutional membership fees
$725 per annum
Corporate Membership is available to for profit organizations with a demonstrated interest in packaging research, package testing, and/or higher education engagement, and who wish to be recognized as active supporters of IAPRI’s mission.
Corporate Members contribute to the network by sharing technical knowledge and practical experience through IAPRI events, conferences, and working groups. Corporate membership is limited to no more than twenty five percent (25%) of the number of Institutional Members.

Corporate Members are uniquely entitled to:
- Recognition as Full Members with voting rights in IAPRI governance
- Eligibility to apply to host IAPRI conferences or specialized industry focused events in partnership with Institutional Members
- Opportunities to propose and co-lead industry driven projects, Communities of Practice topics, and technical working groups
- Eligibility to be represented on the IAPRI Board and to lead IAPRI initiatives and committees
Corporate membership fee
$1,390 per annum
Affiliate Membership is available to associations and professional societies that are not directly engaged in packaging research, test method development, or higher education programs, but are prepared to contribute technical or educational insights that advance IAPRI’s objectives.
The Board may establish additional terms of reference for any new Affiliate Member.
Affiliate Members are uniquely entitled to:
- Participation in member meetings and events, with the opportunity to present work and perspectives
- Visibility for their association and initiatives through IAPRI channels and joint activities
- The ability to initiate collaborative programs, sessions, or workshops that connect their members with IAPRI’s research community
